long has Bouvet been manufacturing decorative hardware?
Bouvet, created in 1884, is one of the oldest decorative hardware
manufacturers in the world.
In 1884, Henri Bouvet started a long tradition of forged decorative
hardware by handcrafting pieces for customers throughout Europe. For
over a century, Bouvet has been creating decorative hardware products
in the tradition of the finest French designs and craftsmanship. Bouvet
is a family business and nowadays is still run by the great-grand
sons of Henri Bouvet, Jean and Alain, who carry on their ancestor's
dreams and creations.
When Bouvet was introduced to America in 1991, there was a mystique
that surrounded this unique line of decorative hardware. Americans
were attracted to and fascinated by this new line of hardware. It
was so unlike the usual cast brass or machine-forged hardware to which
they were so accustomed.
